As you might be aware, the Florida Department of Health, Helping Emergency Responders Obtain Support (HEROS) Program second round funding application cycle will end on December 31, 2018. This program was developed to respond to the nationwide opioid epidemic, and DOH has been appropriated $5,000,000 from the General Revenue Fund for the purchase of emergency opioid antagonists to be made available to emergency responders. Eligible applicants are all Florida agencies that employ emergency responders. Emergency responder means a law enforcement officer, a firefighter, an emergency medical technician, or a paramedic. Applicants that were previously awarded through this program are encouraged to apply again if the need exists. Please visit the link below to apply:

HEROS Application

To address any questions you may have, the HEROS team will be providing a brief online presentation and conference call to inform you about the HEROS program and answer and questions that you may have. This online presentation will take place on December 20, 2018 at 9 AM EST. Members of the HEROS Team will be available to answer any questions you may have.
